Looking back at 2009

Christmas is fast approaching, and the Macmillan English Campus team would like to send our very best wishes of very happy holidays to all our users, old and new, from Italy and Hungary to Uruguay and Russia.

2009 has been a very busy and exciting year for the English Campus. Below is a quick look back at the fantastic new content and features we've added over the last months - plus the final surprise of the year …

One of our most exciting pieces of news for 2009 has been the introduction of Voice Record and Playback, an amazing tool that allows learners torecord and play back their voices. Available to all users of the English Campus, Voice Record and Playback has enriched every audio activity with the possibility of practising and improving your students' speaking skills.

In direct response to your feedback, over the last months we've expanded our range of pre-built adding 18 new courses to the British English Campus, and 17 new courses to the American English Campus. These include Macmillan coursebook courses for American Inspiration, New American Inside Out, In Company, New Inside Out, Sky High and Straightforward; exam preparation courses for TOEFL©, TOEIC©, FCE, CAE, and CPE; and Upper Intermediate courses in Academic English, as well as new materials for the Advanced levels. We have also revised over 100 exercises in our KET and PET preparation courses, to reflect all the latest changes to the exams.

New and enhanced interactive resources
By popular demand, throughout 2009 we have enhanced and enriched our media content to offer even more video, audio, and interactive activities.

Since January, we've published 50 new Business English resources with videos for all Campus users, as well as 25 new videos on the British English Campus. We have also added some new Web Projects, bringing the total to 52 for both British and American users. Last but not least, we've made Interactive Worlds available on the American English Campus, too.

 A new methodology title
As part of our commitment to offering teachers excellent support materials, we've added a new book to the Campus methodology database, 700 Classroom Activities. This insightful and highly enjoyable title contains a wealth of tips and suggestions, which can be used for a variety of teaching situations.

…and three new games!

You can choose between practising vocabulary with dominoes, learning irregular verbs with showmen, or taking part in an adventure with plurals.

We are already preparing plenty of surprises for 2010, so keep checking our website and our emails for all future updates.
