MEC platform
What makes the Macmillan English Campus different from a CD-ROM or a standard website? All the content and reference tools on MEC are controlled by a sophisticated management system, allowing the institution to chart resources to their teaching requirements and get feedback on user performance.
Some of the features of the MEC platform are:
- The Markbook
Whenever a student submits a resource that they have completed their marks are sent instantly to the markbook. This gives administrators and teachers an essential overview of student or class progress and the means to manage and export the marks for all the work completed by their class.
- Resource management
An institution using the English Campus can create online course pathways to match the print material they are currently using with their students.
- Announcements
Administrators can publish announcements to all teachers and students loaded on the Macmillan English Campus.
- Teacher communication
Teachers can publish Bookmarks, Word Lists and Web Links directly to their students, as well as send instant messages to specific users. This enables the teacher to introduce specific remedial work for individual students within a class.
- Placement Test
- An automatically marked test covering grammatical structures, listening and reading comprehension, with an easy-to-use scoring grid. When integrated with an oral examination by the teacher, the MEC Placement Test will provide precious assistance in allocating learners to the correct level.
